Hi there!, I'm currently looking for work in London as an illustrator, does anyone have any advice or tips in order to get started?

I have been trying to find work as an illustrator for months now and have been unfortuntate in my persuit.

  • @Jacqueline Colley that’s extremely helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!
  • Hi Joe,

My thoughts would be that you don’t have to be in London to work as an illustrator you can work from anywhere in the world as it’s mostly remote as in house jobs in illustration are rare. If you’re in london then you could make use of networking events or sell at markets to get more involved in the local scene. I always think the AOI’s portfolio sessions are brilliant for helping identify who your potential clients could be but I always think it’s good to go local look at what’s around you see where your illustrations could help elevate
  • Hi Joe,

I’m Jamil from The Dots! Here are my top tips to help you find work:

    1. Follow your favourite companies so you’re the first to know when they post jobs and call-outs:

    2. Build your network by connecting with people you already know, and people you want to know! (fun fact: 50-80% of jobs are filled through networking):

Oh, and your newsfeed is the place to discover all the best opportunities to network, find work and more:

    I hope that helps!
