  • Hey @anthony charles, Jamil from The Dots here!

You may find our webinar on how to find a mentor and maintain a relationship useful. Check it out here: https://the-dots.com/projects/webinar-recording-how-to-find-a-mentor-maintain-the-relationship-january-2022-600142
  • Hey Anthony, ask for one, but also have a semi-clear(ish) idea of things you'd like to achieve, and a rough time frame.

So for example, if you'd like to be somewhere in particular within a few years (mid, senior or fully independent), earning XYZ, while continuously still developing – factor it all in, so you can realistically achieve your goals.

Also finding a mentor is like going to a job interview, while you are the one looking for a job and being interviewed, you must remember the organisation and the interviewer is being reviewed by the interviewee, which is you.

If something doesn't feel right or you come across a mentor who just doesn't fit, don't worry, try and find another.

There is nothing wrong with being pushed to achieve, but there is something wrong with being pushed around.

Many thing can be achieved with planning, reviewing and being realistic.

Your ball, your court, your serve...
