How do I gauge the (monetary) value of my work and time? What do I ask a client for my work if they ask for my fee? @pipjamieson

  • Hi Ezra,

I would say to have an idea about your day rate based on your skills and experience level. It also depends on your location so do a bit of research on the local average.

After you defined that in every project have a think how long it should take for you to do. You shoudl include really every time you spend on it fi. meetings, research, amends etc. and you just calculate the price based on the time and your daily rate. That's the basic for pricing. After when you have bigger clients you can vary the price based on how big they are so. fi. don't charge the same for a startup in a small town than a big corporate in a head city. It's also useful if you search the company a bit to have an idea how big they are. Hope it helps!
