How do motion designers present their work?

Question

I'm a designer/art director wanted to add a few motion examples to my usual PDF portfolio...
I know you can add video in InDesign and export as a PDF but the videos end up looking very clunky! Is there a better way of doing it so video will play smoothly and automatically? Doesn't have to be a PDF but needs to be a format that anyone can open.
