How have you been able to create opportunities for yourself?

Hey gang 🤠so I started a newsletter that covers creativity, culture and other unfiltered commentaries. For the first newsletter topic, I was thinking about creativity as a practice. I assume we're all very talented creative people that have grown (and are still growing) into our work, so how would you say you've been able to create opportunities for yourself in your creative practice? (this could be with passion projects, a job that you have, client work or even schoolwork). Thinking about my own experience has made me appreciate my creative 'zone of genius' so I'm curious to know how other people would interpret it (this is also going to be the topic of my first newsletter which you can read here if you want: https://innermonologues.substack.com/p/coming-soon?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=substack_profile&showWelcome=true)

  • @Tabitha Odutayo "sometimes you have to carve yourself into a space that didn't know it needed you", I absolutely love this and I will be using it lol, but I definitely agree! Creativity has no bounds (something i'm still learning) and believing in what you as a creative have to offer is key to making other people believe it as well.
  • I love this! I've subscribed to the newsletter. I also think it's hard to find the motivation to create these opportunities for myself but I watch a lot of things that inspire me and try to emulate what I've seen or I send out messages to people to slot myself in that space. Sometives you need to carve yourself into a space that didn't know it need you. Getting the motivation to do that in the first place can be so difficult though. I actually wrote it in my article here: https://www.hookedopportunities.co.uk/creating/methods-of-motivation
