How old and how fast can they stay before you go?
the sister of whirlpools,
that dance together,
down the river stream
the teeth of a yueh fish,
poke over the edge
putting a stop to the swirls
as the wind begins to face ,
the ripples of a thousand suns
Born on the tip of a jade leaf
The purple silk flaps along,
to the bird song
the two legs that carry,
this mountain melody
The yueh closes its jaw
takes a leap off the creek
and dives into yesterdays rice fields
All thats left is a few bubbles
that return to the stream
A riverbank rebirth for
the forehead that almost
tastes the sun.
There are words the wind
doesn’t want written
How old and how fast
can they stay before you go?
