I am new in the VM industry. Any way/trend of preventing late night overtime for window installation setup?

I am new in the VM industry. In my countly (Japan), the window installation setup is done mostly after the shop closes and finishes after midnight or sometime in the morning the next day. How about your countly? I would like to know because there might be a chance of improvement for workers' health & safety. If so, when and how do you install it? Thank you for your help in advance!

  • Hi Makiko,

Yes we have also done some store set ups early in the morning to avoid night shifts and overtime costs especially after COVID hit. Not always possible but it’s definitely worth giving it a try and gauging what activities can and can’t be done. Good luck!
  • Hi Makiko, We changed to daytime dressing to reduce the overtime costs in England.. We blanked out the inside of our window with paper panels and sticky dot fixers ( a 30min job ) The panels are printed with slogans on one side, things like "Be the first to see the new collection " We started earlier but usually did the reveal around 11am - UK coffee break time.. so the activity causes people to come and see what's going on.
Good luck with pitching the idea, I do think this actually created more buzz with customers who were then able to come straight in.
