I created a tool that helps those who don't share their work early and often enough improve their designs. Now, I'm looking for feedback.
🔎 Context: The idea emerged a while back (July 23) when I transitioned into full-time freelance. I quickly found that not being able to show designs to peers or getting feedback before submitting work to clients is going to impact my designs.
❌ Problem: I'd reach out to friends, mentors, and anyone who would listen, but it felt like a burden, as it was taking time away from them.
Forums, groups, and places like The-Dots are great, but that also meant spamming work to strangers and sharing NDA work before it was even live (not ideal).
✅ Solution: So, I started using AI - after a lot of tweaking and figuring it out, it worked. I ended up sharing everything and getting quality feedback that helped with layout, UI, copywriting, UX flows, and even feature suggestions that genuinely benefited the products I was working on! It’s been a massive design process upgrade that helped me produce better work and ended up landing me more referrals.
I realized the problem wasn't unique to me and that there are loads of freelancers, makers, product managers, developers, startup founders that are in the same boat.
🔥 The tool: I packaged everything up and built DesignRoasts. A product aimed at those who need a reliable, second opinion fast. It’s everything I use, compiled into one neat tool.
My goal is to help as many people as possible so the tool will remain free. The only thing I am asking for is testers. I’d love to hear if and how DesignRoasts has helped you and what you’ve been able to do with it!
