I have asked the editor who published my article if we could discuss fees and her reply: are you referring to a fee for you or a Sponsored

post fee? I don't know what to reply as it is the first time I ever get asked this questions.
We didn't talk about fees when I pitched the feature.. what should I reply? Please.

  • @Morgane Roos-Carreira who does it pay?

Sorry to hear that. Annoying when people want your work for free.

  • @Sarah Farley thanks. Sadly it appears like I've worked for free... the magazine doesn't pay their contributors at the moment. lesson learn for next time: ALWAYS discuss fees beforehand. I usually do, but not this time.
  • Hi Morgane, did you discuss and agree your fee before you did the work? If so, then as Peter says, you should send your invoice.
If you didn't agree the fee before you did the work then it sounds like they might be evading your question. But again, you could try sending an invoice with a note along the lines of 'It's great to see that you've published the article I wrote for you. Here's my invoice.'
I hope this helps and good luck!
    Sarah
  • Pretty sure she knows you are expecting payment and is just trying to confuse you. Just say that you will invoice her for the work published.
