I’m running a half marathon for refugee-led arts!

Question

I’m setting myself the ridiculous challenge of running the Battersea Park half-marathon on the 14th May to raise money for Counterpoints Arts - a charitable organisation deeply close to my heart. Counterpoints produces the creative work of refugees and migrants. Migration has shaped ‘who we are’ and ‘who we might become’. Counterpoints wants to engage with, amplify and mainstream this historical and contemporary richness and keep the migration conversation moving.

People – young, old and in-between – who bring lived experiences of displacement to the table do not only have ‘heart-breaking’ tales to tell. With this in mind Counterpoints supports the development and performance of a spectrum of comic, parodic, surreal and moving stories about the migration process, reflecting the full complexities of modern life.
