I recently got into my first group exhibition, I'm showing two paintings and need advice on how to hang them please!

One is an A4 size oil painting on 5mm thick wood, and the other is a 40cm diameter circular canvas board oil painting. Neither have anything on the back that can be used to hang.

I was thinking a box frame for the A4 sized one but super stumped for the circular piece, any insight would be appreciated!

  • Can you attach another piece of MDF to the back? If so you can use a board with a 45 degree cut on the end facing down that goes on the back of the work, and a similar piece goes on the wall for the work to slot onto. It’s a nice mounting method that leaves the pieces hanging a little ways off the wall and can create a pretty drop shadow
