I've just launched a magazine celebrating life in the independent music industry. You can download it for free at passingnotesmag.com

I recently launched the first issue of Passing Notes Magazine, which is a celebration of the life in the independent music industry.

It features long- and short-form editorial and some stunning photography, and explores the life and work of some inspiring, interesting people in music.

I had planned a small print run to distribute freely at select locations across the UK, but COVID made that infeasible, so for the meantime I've launched it for free online - passingnotesmag.com Just sign up and you'll receive it in an email.

I wrote, designed and published the magazine myself and had visuals contributed by photographers KINO, Carmel King and Alan Dear and designers Aoki & Matsumoto.

Issue One features:
- Saffron Music's Laura Lewis-Paul on how motherhood has reaffirmed her sense of purpose running a female-focused music initiative
- Seil Records' Jogging House on how ambient modular music found a home on Instagram
- Ex-Erased Tapes label head, FLOAT founder and Nura Head of Brand, Sofia Ilyas, on her incredible life escaping an oppressive upbringing and making her way in London

Plus a whole lot of other features and interviews!

I hope you enjoy it, and please feel free to get in touch with any feedback. I'm currently finding the strength to begin work on Issue Two, and am open to contributions of all sorts, and am generally up for a chat.

Thanks and all the best,

Huntly
