Looking for an experienced graphic designer (agency) and lecturer, to lecture on Advanced Graphic Design at David Game HE, Aldgate, London.

The Art & Design School in DGHE is looking to recruit a freelance lecturer in graphic design. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching at undergraduate levels and participate in the curriculum development of the department. The main duties for the post holder will focus on carrying out teaching-related duties, such has preparing course content, (including classroom but possible also e-learning and blended learning), designing, and assessing exams and assessments, and providing quality feedback to students. The current programmes we run will involve teaching during week days and flexibility of teaching allocation is desirable. We have an immediate vacancy for Advanced Graphic Design (HND year 2), running for 6 hours (9-1pm and 2-4pm) on Thursdays. The candidate should be immersed in contemporary graphic design (print and digital), with preferably a strong interest in typography, and a current or past experience of agency practice would be welcome. Advanced Graphic Design Specification: Ideally you should be a practicing graphic designer or have significant (5 years plus) experience in graphic design taking jobs from initiation to completion. There is a particular emphasis on a “complete” journey and understanding of process in the module with a focus up to production and on “post production” with students understanding aspects such as scheduling, timeline, costs (to a degree) and the requirements once a job is live including: invoicing, client follow up, design work required after launch, (for example difference in print digital with jobs such as web and app design continuing after the “launch” understanding the loop back from live feedback and further live amends or update stages after launch). An ideal candidate would have direct experience of print and digital working with varied other creative, agency, staff etc and production staff (printers and/or web developers), as well as possibly animation and 3D or overseeing their production. MAIN DUTIES: Teaching and curriculum development: • To undertake the full range of teaching, module leadership and other related duties, with due regard to quality assurance and professional conduct, and to provide high quality learning and teaching. • To update the VLE with teaching material, scheme of work/syllabus, assessment and reading material. • To design and develop innovative, inclusive and inspiring learning materials and assessments including blended learning, flip classroom and e-learning. • To inform the Librarian of the requisite books to be ordered for the course/s. • To contribute to the formative and summative assessment process for students including the setting, marking and internal verification/moderation of work, individually and collectively as part of a team in accordance with established procedures, and within the required deadlines. • To engage in personal tutorials and with the drop-in sessions to provide further support to students. • To undertake regular curriculum and program reviews in your specialism and revise and develop as necessary in consultation with the Programme Manager. • To participate in relevant committees and boards, and team meetings. • To carry out academic administrative work relevant to the department, such has completion of module reports, or contribution to departmental reports, invigilation of exams, completion and submission of attendance registers, in a timely and complete manner. • To actively engage in
