New Look Blog! What do You Think?

I've drastically changed the look and tone of my blog from last time I posted about it here, and I'd be glad for any feedback about it. I'm actually rather happy with it now; all I need is a proper logo!

How do you find the navigation? The bio? The style? Too minimalist or just right? Let me know!

  • @Alexander Adams No problem at all! Iā€™m interested in what you do as I want to be more dedicated to travel blogging myself.

As for the thumbnails, Iā€™d personally go around 2 times bigger. Majority of the thumbnail pictures you use seem to be landscape photos. Perhaps rather than using a square ratio you could display them as landscape thumbnails for more impact.

I think most people look at images first and then the title. Use that to your advantage! šŸ˜
  • @Sima M Zadeh hey great thanks! Good point about the author name it never really accoured to me to not have it. Same for the comments I think, not enough traffic for it to be worthwhile, although the likes do give a little dopamine rush when I see someone liked it haha

Bigger thumbnails interesting, how large would you personally prefer? I've toyed around with various sizes before so maybe its time to give it another look.

Thanks for feedback though! I really appreciate you taking the time to click around šŸ˜
  • Hi Alexander!

I had a look at your blog and would say itā€™s definitely a clean, simple style thatā€™s easy to navigate. I also love that thereā€™s a filter to find relevant posts.

I would have loved the thumbnail images to be bigger, I think it would make me want to click on it more. Most people are very visual! One way to do this could be to display the posts in a grid style.

Perhaps you could remove the author name as it may allow you to make your blog titles to be bigger. Whoeverā€™s on your blog most likely knows you wrote it since you have a little bio at the top saying so!

I would personally remove the like and comment items from below the thumbnails as I donā€™t think theyā€™re adding to the experience.

The actual blog posts themselves are nicely laid out and engaging!

    Hope this helps! :)
