ONLINE DIRECTING WORKSHOPS FOR EARLY CAREER FILMMAKERS

Question

I am running a series of THREE affordable ONLINE WORKSHOPS aimed at early career filmmakers based on my successful MASTERCLASS with BFI film ACADEMY (2023). Aimed at demystifying the directing process and short film process whilst also preparing filmmakers for upcoming short film funds.

Having worked as a director, with commissions from NORTHERN IRELAND SCREEN, BBC and major record labels, as well as in the MARKETING TEAM at world leading film festivals, I have a deep and varied knowledge of both how to promote yourself as a filmmaker and what appeals to festival and fund selectors.

The course is aimed at early career filmmakers, you might not have made a short before or perhaps you are struggling to crack the festival circuit. We will approach how to market yourself online. Create striking materials to sell your ideas to other creatives and producers. How to develop a network. Applying for funding, raising finance and navigating the festival circuit to make your first films count. As well as how to approach the various elements of short film directing.

These informal yet thorough workshops will be size capped to ensure maximum time to dedicate to each student.

1-1 sessions are also available at times more convenient to you.
