Georgie is a multi-award winning writer and director based in Northern Ireland and London. She has worked across several disciplines including film, podcast creation, arts journalism and curation. Her films have been recognised globally for their bold and unique vision and screened at BAFTA qualifying festivals. She has had experience working across several departments on low-budget short films, often editing, art directing and animating graphics in her films. She is currently in post-production on a BBC short film where she will combine live action footage with animated collages.
Her work is created with broad audiences in mind and the desire to dramatise the ordinary, especially the daily challenges faced by women. She is interested in visualising modern life and the issues of technology through a historical gaze; creating works which fuse popular culture and aesthetics from the past and present.

Georgie Cowan-Turner is an award-winning writer and director who has worked across several disciplines including film, podcast creation, arts journalism and curation. She graduated with a distinction for a Masters in Film from Queens University Belfast and has a BA in English Literature from University College London.
Georgie’s work is created with broad audiences in mind and the desire to dramatise the ordinary, especially the daily challenges faced by women. She is interested in visualising modern life and the issues of technology through a historical gaze; creating works which fuse popular culture and aesthetics from the past and present. Her films have screened globally and at BAFTA qualifying film Festivals. She recently finished a short film with the BBC and Northern Ireland Screen which she directed, wrote and edited.
She is currently set to direct two Episodes of a TV Series set in London.
