Opinions about shoe collection - Dress shoes in traditional mens' style but women sizes? What do you think?

Hello! I am thinking about launching a collection of dresseshoes (brogues, wingtips etc) for women (or just people with smaller feet!). Small batches, ideally preordered and hopefully would be pieces that could be with you for a long time.

It is always been a shoe choice of mine and I am always wondering why there seems to be a gap in the market for them.

I do realise that there are larger brands from John Lobb to Russell and Bromley that are providing them, but most of them lack the craftsmanship details that they actually put into making mens' dress shoes.

Before I invest too much into this, I'm here to ask for some opinions on the subject and if there are any interest, or if anyone has done anything similar?

  • @Sophie Howe Thakn you so much for your reply Sophie! I do remember office used to have them, and i think I have these images of women looking great in these style hence the idea budded in my mind.

And you're right, I'll be focusing mor on craftmaship and small batchs production runs, consuming more mindfully and sustainablely (ahh these buzzwords) - leading to higher cost...
  • Office used to do a couple of brogue-style options for smaller feet. I had a couple of pairs from there a while back which I used to wear all the time... one was like a brogue-trainer hybrid which was lighter weight without wooden soles, and one a more classic brogue with wood soles and some (not-too-femme) floral detailing on the shoe itself. They were just Office own brand, so not the kind of detail or craftmanship it sounds like you'd be exploring :-)
