Some of the biggest names in the art world were rejects once
After years of contemplating submitting an artwork to the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition I finally got myself together this year and lets just say first time was not the charm as I was hit with a bit fat rejection!
But as the lovely Shona Bland of Art Friends has put it "Some of the biggest names in the art world were rejects once – and now Art Friend is showcasing the best of a new gen of rejects."
I am delighted to be a part Art Friends REJECTS show, the Alternative Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, where the best artworks from the 13,000 rejected pieces will be showcased at a gallery hidden in the heart of Bermondsey.
Pop down on opening night Opening night Thursday 27 July from 6pm to 9pm, as REJECTS throws an opening night party for the hottest rejects in town. There will be drinks flowing, a DJ playing, and live screen-printing – plus the opportunity to knock-around with the artists themselves (although don’t mention the Summer Exhibition!)
