Subtitles, translation French to English and English to French (for YT video subtitles, short films, docs, theatre, subtitles, zines) ..
This lockdown got me thinking I should get back to my first love for languages. I'd like to start a career in translation, therefore I am looking to gain experience - I am french, I have a 3 year university degree in English Literature, I've been living and working in England for 5 years.
Early this year I got my first translation job and I loved it! I translated marketing material for a theatre company's latest digital play from english into french (press package, event description on all digital channels) and ensured meaning and context were maintained. I edited content with an eye toward maintaining its original format and roofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy.
I would especially like to work for nonprofit institutions and creative industries. I would love to help out the LGBTQAI+ community and offer a cheap and easy access to translation services (youtube videos, online content, documentaries, short films, feature films, theatre, zines), let's spread our voices!
