Tate is on the lookout for freelance video producers to take on a slate of projects

Working with Tate’s Digital Content team, you will help us tell stories about the art and artists in our collection, always with broad and diverse audiences in mind.

Applicants must have proven experience producing video or film, ideally broadcast or short documentary, online branded content. You should have excellent communication skills, with a track record of working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing the production of short-form video projects, overseeing their development through to delivery

Building production teams, with the ability to brief and manage them fully

Organising and leading on shoots, both in Tate’s galleries and at other locations

Working closely with Tate’s Post Production Manager to agree an efficient workflow for shooting, grade and sound mix

Ensure rushes are backed up and stored safely, that deliverable specs are met, and that all output is consistent with Tate’s editorial, design and accessibility standards

Taking responsibility for contracts, license agreements, supplier set ups and invoicing

Tracking funding for individual productions and making sure they stay within budget

Clearing permission to use assets within the films (artworks, archive footage, imagery, music, sound etc)

Championing diversity, inclusivity and equality by making sure the content makers we work with and themes we explore reflect the diverse audiences we want to reach

If you are interested, please send your CV and examples of work you have produced to film@tate.org.uk

Joining our pool of freelance video producers will enable you to be offered work as and when opportunities arise.

Appointment to the pool will not entitle candidates to permanent contracts at Tate

  • I would love to be part of the team and work on this! I already have experience working with multidisciplinary artists and in all sorts of spaces.
I would also be intersted in being part of the video making.
