Tips on how to manage your full-time role & side hustle without burning yourself out ?
I’m struggling to find the time & make the time for my side hustle. Once I finish work, I don’t have the creative energy to edit or create anything even though I love my craft. This is also hindering my progress skills wise . Any advice would be helpful

- I can definitely say that it was the psychologist who helped me solve many of my problems, so I am sure that specialists should look at this resource in order to be able to expand the boundaries of helping people.
- There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best way to manage a full-time role will vary depending on individual circumstances. However, some tips on how to manage a full-time role effectively may include: - Prioritising tasks and deadlines - Breaking down larger projects into smaller, more manageable tasks - Creating a realistic and achievable daily/weekly/monthly to-do list - Time management techniques such as the Pomodoro Technique - Delegating tasks where possible - Seeking help and support from others when needed - Managing stress levels and taking regular breaks
- Hey Jay, I found the same and therefore started working in the morning - I would go to a coffee shop for an hour before the office and that way no matter how drained I felt at the end of the day, I'd contributed to my side hustles. Weekends are also a great time to focus on anything you like.
- @Jay Neto No worries, good luck and if if you need any help then get in touch.
- @Brian Grant thank for the tips !
- @Brian Grant these questions are really helpful, thank you
- Great question and responses. Wish I'd had some of these helpful tips mentioned in the comments before I experienced burnout. Since then I've relocated to Portugal to help me slow down and have more time/energy for creative passion projects... like this playful spring retreat for kind creators: https://slowcowork.com/spring-retreat
- Hello Jay,That is a great question.A useful thing to do is to take a step back and look at the big picture and ask a few important questions.
- Where do I want to get to?
- When do I want to get there?
- Are my current actions helping or hindering my progress to get there?
- What can I change that will improve my chances of success?
- What resources will I need?
- If I don’t have those resources then how can I have access to them or others that do?
Once you have looked at your situation strategically that should give you some key insights. The next thing to do is to honestly look at your main objective and compare it against the time that you have each day.Typically side hustle hours are 7pm - 12am (it varies from person to person)So lets say that you have 5 hours each day, then you need to plan your activity in ways that you will be effective with your time and not wasting time being “busy” but not productive. There is a method in time management called the Pareto Principle or 80 / 20 rule which means that 20% of the things that you do will account for 80% of the success that you will get, and 80% of things will only account for 20% of success. If you find out the right 20% of things to do then you will be able to be more productive than ever before and in less time. There is more to be said, although that should be enough to get you moving in the right direction for now.Good luck!! - Hey! This is so relatable - had a long while of back to back burn outs as I was not managing my work-life balance at all!Firstly, what is the goal with your side hustle? I find that having a clear focus of where I'm going with a project helps to make decision making and allocating time to a project easier and time put towards it becomes more productive.Could also, block out a few hours everyday in the evening of "focus side-hustle time" to get some bits done for your craft (Olivia mentioned Google Calendar - or any organizational tool, even a physical planner if that helps - I use a diary as writing things down helps me to remember). It can be challenging, but even 2hours a day is something more than before. Also, I find making sure 1 day of the week is for you to re-charge/have fun or do whatever it is that you enjoy helps to find a balance and not loose sight of yourself and your social life - the things that bring joy to life.
- 8 8 8 rule for me works wonders! 8 hours working, 8 hours sleeping and then 8 hours to do what you want (so social life/your side hustle). I also started to wake up 1 hour earlier and sleep at about 10:30, so I have time in the evening to do whatever I want and do work in the morning. Also Google Calendar is a lifesaver and helps me with organisation sooo much so I don't waste my time
