Job Description: Freelance Sustainable Interior Designer (Remote)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a freelance Sustainable Interior Designer on a flexible hours basis.
As a Sustainable Interior Designer, you will create environmentally conscious, functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces that align with our client's needs while minimizing ecological impact. Your role will encompass a blend of design expertise, sustainability knowledge, and project management skills to contribute to the creation of spaces that promote well-being, conservation, and responsible resource utilization.
Essential to have an in-depth understanding of sustainable design and sustainable materials selection.
Key Responsibilities:
Sustainable Design:
Develop innovative and environmentally-friendly design concepts for interior spaces that prioritize sustainability, energy efficiency, and ecological responsibility.
Integrate sustainable materials, finishes, furnishings, and lighting solutions into design plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and green certifications.
Material and Product Research:
Conduct thorough research on sustainable materials, products, and technologies to recommend eco-conscious options that align with project goals.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in sustainable design and implement them effectively.
Space Planning /Technical Drawing :
Develop well-thought-out spatial plans and prepare accurate and comprehensive technical drawings, including detailed joinery plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
Project Management:
Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and high-quality execution of sustainable design elements.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to oversee the implementation of sustainable design concepts.
Documentation and Presentation:
Create detailed design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, renderings, and specifications, to communicate design concepts effectively to clients and project teams.
3D Visualization:
Produce 3D renderings and visualizations that provide clients with a realistic preview of the design concept.
Environmental Impact Analysis:
Conduct life cycle assessments and environmental impact analyses to quantify the ecological benefits of sustainable design choices and provide clients with data-driven insights.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design / Sustainable Design or a related field.
1 Year + of experience industry as an interior designer
Proven experience as an Interior Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing sustainable design projects.
Proficiency in design software.
In-depth knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building certifications (LEED, WELL, etc.), and sustainable materials.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written English skills - writing blog posts/reports on sustainability
A commitment to staying updated on industry trends and advancements in sustainable design.
