What are some of the ways to protect your creative work on social media? (Especially Instagram)

- @Toto Obi Just to be clear, its not that you are posting on Instagram. Anything original (music, photography, artwork) that you create becomes copyright, no matter where its posted or displayed.Everyone, especially in the creative industry should be aware of copyright and ownership, especially if working for a company or yourself, copyright applies the other way too, if you use a photograph from the web of a billboard to display your poster in a guideline document or on your portfolio, you will be breaking the law if you didnt take that picture or own the right to use it.
- @christopher conway wow didn’t know this, thank you!
- By creating your original work and posting it on Instagram your work automatically becomes copyright owned by you. Stopping someone from illegally using your work is a different matter.
- Watermark, 100% in transparent/low opacity font in the middle of your work.
- Put watermarks (over the image in lower opacity), upload it in lower quality/resolution (the image might look good online but prints very poorly), and include your signature (something that does not cover the entire image).
