What are you looking for when hiring a Digital Marketing Freelancer?
I have 4.5 years experience marketing in arts, culture and education sector. As these sectors are undergoing huge challenges right now, I am looking to switch to more corporate work.
I'd love to know what companies look for when hiring a marketing person - do you want experience in your sector, or do you look for interesting work and accompanying results through their marketing activities? What might you want to see from someone who doesn't have direct experience of your sector?

- @Lu Li That sounds like a great idea - creating something bespoke as an example of potential work - thanks so much!
- Previous results achieved (ideally quantifiable and related to the bottom line), an understanding of the industry and also whether you can write in the right tone of voice. If you don't have previous experience in a certain sector, I would recommend to create something that the hiring company can see themselves using, i.e. a suggestion for a content calendar, a blog post etc. and send it along with your application.Hope this helps and good luck! :)
- @Annie Veale Hi Annie, that sounds great let's chat further!
- Hi Katie, I also work in design, marketing and project management and find the list of expected responsibilities for marketing roles required varies greatly... Not necessarily at all reflected by marketing budgets or salary.I am in the process of updating profiles on my website.. perhaps you would like to connect, chat and see if we can approach some pitches together?
