What should you divulge in a cover letter to explain a large gap in employment?

Hi All

I’m in the job hunting doom trap, I want to apply for jobs but my confidence is now hidden under the floor.

I have had a long time out of the market, 3 years in total. 1st year over 300 jobs applied only 14 responses this lead to a break in my mental health. Year 2 was six months of intense counselling and then a short course in product design. I am desperate to get back into work, but fighting the fear of rejection, (again) I don’t know what to include to describe my situation (including being homeless and left financially destitute from the pandemic, battling anxiety with ADHD and trying to maintain a boat with no money and no knowledge or support)

Any help would be greatly appreciated
