Who'd like to get some free help improving their prices for creative work?

Over Christmas I've been studying the "Pricing Creativity" approach from Blair Enns. It's a brilliant system for helping creatives and agency owners / teams to get the value they deserve for their creative content. As I have found that the very best way to learn something is to learn it and then teach others straight away. I thought I'd ask the lovely Dots community and see if 3 of you would like to get some coaching on what i've learned. No charge as we'll all be learning. Let me know why you'd really like to improve your pricing and why you've not done it until now? I'll make a fair selection from respondents and then once we've completed the coaching, I'll mak ethe material available via a share site somehow (not figured that bit out yet :-))

  • Hi Sean, I'm really interested in learning more about pricing the project. How to gives the right value for the output and effort. I don't know how to read the client expectation about the budget wise. Maybe if you can share it will be very helpful. Looking forward to hearing for you, have a great day!
  • Hi Sean, this sounds great and is very kind of you. I have started not so long ago to have more freelance work and is something I still question to myself when clients come to me. I debate between an according price and the experience I count on . As well, I feel it's treated as a taboo topic so people are afraid to talk about it and that doesn't help as well for anybody that is starting. The quality offered will never undermine the price, from my point of view. This will really help to establish myself better, I'd love to take part on this!
  • This is truly generous of you Sean. Knowing what to charge and if it's the real worth for the project has been a major issue in my design journey. Though less than 2 years into design, I always find myself questioning if the price was right, if the client will accept it, how to weigh the value I offer relating to the price.

This will really help me gain the clarity I seek.
  • Hi Sean, that's very generous, I'd like to be involved. I'm a photographer based in London. At times I straggle with judging what's "the right" amount to charge vs what's out there in real world... Can you help?
  • That sounds really helpful Sean. I think most creatives do what we do almost instinctively, and the value of the work is very hard for us to judge ourselves. I'd love to know what you have learned
