Organised by Art UK

Art Unlocked is a new online event series brought to you by Art UK in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Each week, different museum and gallery curators and directors from across the UK will deliver a 30-minute talk on selected works from their collection.

For our latest talk, join Art UK and Sarah Hardy, Curator-Manager of the De Morgan Collection, for an exciting exploration of some notable works from this beautiful collection on 7th July 2021, 5:30pm.

Art Unlocked is delivered over Zoom Webinar. You will be sent the link to join a few days before the talk is scheduled to take place. There will be a short Q&A session after the talk.

The talk is free but there is the option to donate to Art UK and the De Morgan Collection alongside your ticket. Any donations are much appreciated and go towards supporting the UK's national collection.

About the De Morgan Collection

Artists William and Evelyn De Morgan married in 1887 and spent their lives creating artwork for a better, more beautiful world. Evelyn’s visionary Pre-Raphaelite paintings communicate her pacifist and spiritualist moral messages. William created handmade ceramics in rejection of modern production and the ills of an industrialised city. Both were feminists who actively supported the Suffragettes in their fight for equality. Their artworks are cared for and shared by the De Morgan Foundation at the De Morgan Museum at Cannon Hall, and in exhibitions across the country.

About Art UK

Art UK is a cultural education charity on a mission to make the art in UK public collections accessible to everyone – for enjoyment, learning and research.

We are bringing together the nation's art on one platform for the world to see. We digitise artworks, tell the stories behind the art and create exciting opportunities for public interaction with art. We play a major role in supporting public art collections, by improving their accessibility and sustainability.
