Join Art UK and the Cooper Gallery in exploring artworks from their collection.

About this event
Art Unlocked is an online event series brought to you by Art UK in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Each week, different museum and gallery curators and directors from across the UK will deliver a 30-minute talk on selected works from their collection.
For our latest talk, join Art UK and Natalie Murray, Collections and Exhibitions Manager, for an exciting exploration of some notable works from this collection on 6th September 2023, 5:30pm. In this talk, discover how the individual tastes and motivations of Barnsley’s collectors have created distinct and remarkable groups of artworks within the collection.
Art Unlocked is delivered over Zoom Webinar and can be accessed via the event page once you have registered. There will be a short Q&A session after the talk.
The talk is free but there is the option to donate to the Cooper Gallery, and all donations are greatly appreciated.
About The Cooper Gallery
The fine art collection at the Cooper Gallery includes British and European artists from the 17th to 21st centuries. Vibrant oil paintings by Prunella Clough and Eugène Isabey are accompanied by the watercolours of JMW Turner and Henry Moore and the beautiful drawings of Jean François Millet and Bernard Meninsky.
The most recent additions are a selection of studio pottery collected by Barnsley artist Malcolm Whittaker, and acquisitions of contemporary and modern paintings by female artists including Mary Fedden, Rose Hilton and Val Robinson.
You can follow the Cooper Gallery on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
