The latest in the Art Unlocked series. Join Art UK and The Women's Art Collection in exploring artworks from their collection.

About this event
Art Unlocked is an online event series brought to you by Art UK in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Each week, different museum and gallery curators and directors from across the UK will deliver a 30-minute talk on selected works from their collection.
For our latest talk, join Art UK and Naomi Polonsky, Associate Curator, for an exciting exploration of some notable works from this collection on 8th February 2023, 5:30pm. In this talk you will discover the remarkable and radical history of The Women’s Art Collection and hear about fascinating works by Mary Kelly, Maud Sulter, Rose Garrard, Marlene Rolfe, Paula Rego and Anya Paintsil.
Art Unlocked is delivered over Zoom Webinar and can be accessed via the event page once you have registered. There will be a short Q&A session after the talk.
The talk is free but there is the option to donate to The Women’s Art Collection with your ticket. Your gift will ensure that this unique collection remains open to visitors and that the artworks, artists and their stories are studied, shared and enjoyed. With your donation the Collection can continue to grow and support women artists through ambitious exhibitions and events.

About The Women's Art Collection
The Women’s Art Collection at Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge, is Europe’s largest collection of art by women. It includes over 600 works by leading artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Paula Rego, Lubaina Himid, Faith Ringgold, Tracey Emin and Cindy Sherman. Founded in 1992, the Collection challenges the underrepresentation of women artists in museums and galleries. It is a celebration of women’s agency and creativity, an art historical record and a living, evolving body of art. It is displayed throughout Murray Edwards College, an iconic Brutalist building designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon as a manifesto for women’s education.
You can follow The Women's Art Collection on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
