Join us from November 15 - 17 as we bring together architects, housebuilders, researchers, engineers, activists and other industry professionals to discuss how to leverage buildings to benefit the environment and improve the quality of life for people everywhere.

Free and open to all, The Build for Life Conference 2021 is a fully digital event that will feature more than 90 expert speakers from around the world, presenting from two main stages in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Build for Life Conference 2021 will also host the 9th VELUX Daylight Symposium, a biennial conference for researchers, architects and others with a professional interest in bridging daylight research and practice to create healthier, more resilient buildings.

Sign up today to join the conversation about the future of buildings and how, together, we can drive sustainability in the building industry. The conference will take place according to Central European Time (CET).

Two stages

The inaugural Build For Life Conference brings together industry professionals and global thought leaders on two main event stages: the Compass Stage and the Daylight Symposium Stage.

Speakers will inspire and challenge us to consider how to improve building affordability,

flexibility, quality, and the ways that our buildings directly impact the environment, communities, and human health and well-being.

The takeaway? How to design buildings fit for the 21st century.

Compass Stage
Join the Compass Stage to discuss the seven biggest challenges and opportunities in the building industry today, including: the need for flexibility in design, the shifting role of buildings in our communities, and new demands for healthier living spaces.

Daylight Symposium Stage
Since 2005, the Daylight Symposium has explored the power of daylight to create healthy and resilient buildings. This year, more than 40 leaders in daylight research and practice come together to answer a single, critical question: can we bridge the gap between daylight research and practice for the good of people and the planet?

Meet the moderators
Each of the two main stages of the Build for Life Conference will have a dedicated moderator to help facilitate the digital event experience.

The Compass stage will be moderated by Ane Cortzen from the main stage in Copenhagen. Ane will be joined by the following co-hosts: Marcus Fairs, Editor-in-Chief of Dezeen, Pernille Berg, Head of the Science Programme at BLOXHUB and Christina Yao, editor of Dezeen China.

The Daylight Symposium stage will be moderated by Kevin Van Den Wymelenberg, Professor of Architecture at the University of Oregon and Martha Thorne, architectural academic and currently the Dean of the School of Architecture at IE University in Madrid.
