Talbot Rice Gallery is proud to announce the first survey exhibition of Céline Condorelli, opening 25 June.

Condorelli is an artist whose work has evolved through art, architecture and design and friendship, and has remained committed to the experience of transformation throughout. From raw materials, cultivation and extraction, to processes of industrialisation and labour, through to methods of display, reception and transmission, her practice closely communicates the methods and labour of its creation.

Throughout the exhibition material transformation will be enacted, documented and playfully insinuated – but not all will be as it appears. The threshold to the gallery will be activated – dislocating us from one neighbourhood to another, the outside will be brought inside, labour will converse with leisure, the technology of colour will be explored and play will animate the whole exhibition.

Including friends, collaborators and other artists who Condorelli works with, from and alongside - Anna Barham, Jay Bernard, Revital Cohen and Tuur van Balen, Isa Genzken, Hannah Catherine Jones, James Langdon, Grace Ndiritu, Delphine Reist, Ben Rivers and Lucy Steeds – ‘After Work’ will also explore the artist’s research, drawings and personal collections.

A catalogue produced with Edinburgh University Press and designed by Fraser Muggeridge studio, featuring texts by Jay Barnard, Lucy Steeds, Sam Thorne and Tessa Giblin, will be launched in celebration of the opening of Edinburgh Art Festival.
