Interested in creative writing for different mediums like theatre and spoken word?

In this four day course we’ll explore how to craft stories and build words using your own ideas. We’ll explore story structure, creating characters and developing narratives, and help you express your own voice through poetry and storytelling.

You’ll spend time playing creative games and getting to know each other as a group, to help you build confidence in sharing ideas and expressing yourself in a comfortable, safe space. Then we’ll work towards creating some original pieces of work both collaboratively with the group and individually.

WHAT DO I GET BY TAKING PART?
Have fun playing creative games
Learn techniques to structure your stories and ideas into different writing formats
Improve reading and writing skills in a fun and supportive environment
Learn about the work of exciting professional writers
Meet other young people interested in creative writing

DO I NEED ANY PARTICULAR SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE TO TAKE PART?

I HAVE ADDITIONAL NEEDS. WHAT SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE?
We are committed to supporting D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse young people, those with medical conditions, access requirements or any lived experience that may require adaptation, support or sensitivity. If there is anything you would like to let us (our youth workers, tutors or staff) know that will support your enjoyment and access, you can do so by emailing us at advicebase@roundhouse.org.uk, and we will contact you to discuss further how to best support your engagement.
