About
If only we could talk.

It’s sometimes hard to talk. To say what you mean. To express yourself. And when it can’t come out, sometimes it goes in. What does the world look like if you can’t say what you want to say? Is it more beautiful? Is it more complicated?

We are social animals. Speech is therapeutic. We need to be heard. To be heard is to be seen.

If only we could talk is an exhibition of work looking at what it means to not be able to express oneself through spoken language. How we see the world, how we see others if there is no speech.

For some reason statistic suggest it’s more difficult for men to express emotion through the spoken word. Globally a man takes his own life approximately every 60 minutes. Perhaps this is because he does not feel heard, does not feel seen.

This exhibition will be viewed in silence. In the final room you will have a 60 second portrait drawn by an artist from the Kindness Studio. Everyone that views the work will be seen.
