Art plays a crucial role in early childhood development, providing opportunities for connection and creativity.
As inequalities widen and the status of art diminishes in schools, access to art and creative opportunities for those in disadvantaged areas becomes increasingly difficult. How can we support all children to benefit from creative interventions? Join Dr Penny Hay in conversation with Nesta’s Emma McFarland on 24 January as they explore the importance of art in childhood.
Dr Penny Hay will share her expert insights into pedagogical approaches that parents and educators can use to develop and support children as artists. This will include her doctoral research and upcoming book, Children as artists: the role of adults in supporting children's learning identity as artists.
