Learn the art of visual storytelling with renowned photographer KC Nwakalor. The event is for Young People aged 18-26.

Join documentary photographer KC Nwakalor in a one-day practical workshop as he shares insights and techniques on how to tell a captivating story through a series of photographs. Through discussions, practical exercises, and mentoring, you will gain a deep understanding of the key elements that make up a powerful visual narrative. You will learn how to choose the right moments to capture, how to sequence images for maximum impact, and how to edit and refine your work to create a cohesive and impactful body of work. By the end of the workshop, you will have the tools and knowledge to create compelling visual stories that will captivate and inspire your audience. Attendees must be 18-26 years old.

This workshop is suitable for all levels and limited to 16 attendees. Please bring your own camera, either a DSLR or a phone camera. If using a phone camera, we recommend downloading one photography and one photo editing app from the suggestions below ahead of the workshop:
Photography: VSCO (Apple and Android, free) or Halide (Apple, free trial then $9.99 USD/year)
Editing: Adobe Lightroom (Apple and Android, free) or Snapseed (Apple and Android, free)

Workshop led by KC Nwakalor: 

KC Nwakalor is a Documentary Photographer, Producer & Educator based between Manchester, UK and Abuja, Nigeria. He has worked extensively across West Africa, and through his work, he humanises real socio-economic, health, and environmental issues within Africa and the African diaspora. His work is published in The New York Times, Bloomberg, and Financial Times, amongst others.
