Are you willing to immerse yourself in critical design practice? Apply to join this year's School of Speculation 4-week course hosted by the Koppel Project and the South London Gallery in partnership with the Design Museum.

What to expect
School of Speculation brings together students from diverse backgrounds with creative practitioners to shape new social and political practices. Established in 2018 by Pierre Shaw and Kishan San, School SOS is interested in collectivising on how design pedagogy can and should be shaped by its participants.
The upcoming free four-week summer school will include public lectures from leading academics and designers, financial guidance and workshops on funding small practices facilitated by course tutors from the design, museum and gallery sectors.
Twelve selected participants will work alongside a series of public events and lectures from practitioners at the cutting edge of design and academia and will have the opportunity to exhibit their work during a final exhibition at the South London Gallery.
This year’s line-up includes Prof. Jo Littler (co-author of The Care Manifesto, author of Left Feminisms), RESOLVE Collective, Forensic Architecture, and Adam Elliot-Cooper (author of Black Resistance to British Policing) and guests. The programme will also run weekly technical workshops in digital media-making software including 3D Scanning, 3D Animation and Game Engines.
This year’s brief centres on participants and their ambitions for critical spatial practice beginning with the maxim of feminist theory ‘the personal is political' (Hanisch 1970) in order to orientate participants to a series of critical ambitions for their future practice.
