About the Role We are seeking an ambitious, award winning and collaborative Associate Creative Director to work alongside DRUM’s Group Creative Director.
You’ll be responsible for coming up with original and innovative ideas for a variety of DRUM and OMG clients that help brands create cultural signals in non-traditional and emerging spaces that engage with audiences in new ways.
As a key member of the department, you’ll support the GCD in driving the creative vision of DRUM forward, delivering stand out, shareable and engaging campaigns that make people want to tune in. Whilst driving initiatives that boost creativity and revenue and help clients understand the value of cultural activations in solving their business challenges. Our client base and briefs are varied so you could be working on a brand partnership with the likes of the Guardian or Ladbible, pitching an AFP to Channel 4, using the latest innovation in gaming to put our brands at the centre of emerging culture or creating an experiential activation that gets PR headlines.
No week is ever the same, so you’ll need to be on top of culture, both mainstream & avant-garde and use this knowledge to push the creative output of DRUM into new areas. A master of your craft, you’re just as happy being hands on and this is evidenced in your unexpected and bold ideas and can-do attitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Best in Class Work
  • Support the GCD in driving creative excellence across out agency projects and outputs.
  • As a creative lead be autonomous from briefing through to presenting the creative idea at the client session, with oversight and guidance from the CD’.
  • You can solve problems on the fly, adapt to new situations and collaborating with internal and external project teams.
  • You’re comfortable challenging the work, ensuring that each concept demonstrates stretch, and answers the brief and the audience.
Supporting Creative Director
  • An enthusiastic driving force and exponent for the creative team, acting as a facilitator and problem solver while protecting the integrity of our creative output.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
  • Support on media pitches to unlock growth for agencies and new clients for DRUM.
  • Line manage 3 direct reports – 2 x senior creatives and a mid-weight creative - and be responsible for aiding in their development and helping them improve in their conceptualisation ideation, copywriting, art direction and knowledge of production.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Carry out yearly assessments in conjunction with the CD to set personal KPI’s and recommend any formal training they may need.
  • Join weekly status meetings to have sight of what’s going through the agency each week and for the creative team.
Leadership
  • A creative ambassador for DRUM with clients and partner agencies looking to you for knowledge & expertise on content & platform trends & innovation.
  • Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance visibility and reputation
About You
  • Experience leading and collaborating with designers, copywriters, strategists and creatives and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Impeccable presentation skills: Able to explain the reasons behind a particular creative strategy, and guide clients through difficult decision points.
  • Industry-leading quality of work: you produce inspiring work that stands out, is flawless in execution, and innovative in thought.
  • An understanding of the media landscape
