Working in Sync offers an exciting opportunity to work in a highly creative and entrepreneurial environment. Our team is instrumental in generating opportunities for Warner Chappell Music’s diverse catalogue of music to appear in film, TV and advertising.

Your role:
The Director, Strategic Creative Sync and Business Development, APAC acts as a regional head of sync, plays a pivotal role in driving strategic direction, creative sync initiatives and business development efforts for Warner Chappell Music in Asia Pacific. Starting as an individual contributor with responsibilities of building out the team. The success of the department hinges on the APAC Head of Sync’s forensic oversight of project management and their execution of commercially driven, strategic activations across all WCM writers and catalogues. The APAC Head of Sync’s vision for the business is powerfully communicated to the wider APAC team, as well as to Senior leadership. Their extensive experience in Sync and impeccable professional reputation is acknowledged widely throughout the music industry.
Here you'll get to:
  • Using WCM global Sync strategy as a framework, create & communicate short/mid/long term strategy for APAC Sync to Global Head of Sync, and President of APAC, with regularly quarterly reviews to ensure progress is on track.
  • Oversee all APAC Sync activities.
  • Drive APAC Sync’s monthly. Quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Represent APAC Sync within the WCM global network through regular attendance of relevant company meetings, speaking on behalf of APAC Sync in intracompany communications and representing APAC Sync at all external professional activities e.g. conferences, gigs, industry events etc.
  • Manage all writer/artist/management/estate relationships on behalf of APAC Sync through regular attendance of meetings, checking in via written comms and representing our writers at showcases/events.  The APAC Head of Sync will also delegate writer relationship management to relevant team members as required.
  • Oversee all APAC Sync client relationships, both on domestic projects as well international projects using APAC repertoire.
  • Any adhoc project as assigned from time to time.
About you:
  • You are a natural leader with an effortless ability to communicate a clear vision and direction.
  • You have extensive experience in strategic business development creative sync, or advertising experience.
  • You are an impeccable organiser; You are always several steps ahead.
  • You are an unknockable team player.
  • You are highly capable in securing and maintain extensive network of successful clients to WCM.
  • You are an expert in understanding & resolving all APAC Sync-related matters/issues arising from interaction with PROs, unions, broadcasters, and streaming platforms.
  • You are highly respected (both within the music industry as well as outside the music industry) for your integrity, vast knowledge base, credibility, and capability.
  • You can smell a commercial opportunity a mile off and your ability to close deals is second to none.
  • You are evangelical about proactive marketing and client relationship building.
  • You speak English and an Asian language (Korean or Mandarin preferred) fluently.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
