Job Title: Finance Assistant
A little bit about our team:
Our Finance team plays a key role in our success and is responsible for the management of the company’s cash flow and forecasts. Our high performing team supports the business with a range of activities that include the day to day transactional accounting including Accounts Payable and Receivable through to advising longer term financing and providing information that assists our managers in making strategic decisions.
Your role:
The role will see you supporting the Financial Planning Director on financial reporting, budgeting and analysis. Our team within the department is responsible for managing the financials for our distribution label, monthly statement reporting for third party labels and providing information to Management to make strategic decisions.  You will also  support the team in the preparation of monthly accounting and forecasting cycles. As you grow into the role it will provide the opportunity to develop a wide range of experience to support your ACCA/CIMA studies.
Here you’ll get to:
  • You will be the main point of contact in the team for the the new royalty system (wars) and maintain the system,   set up contracts and generate statements
  • You will document additional system development requirements and liaise with relevant team
  • Assist in data owner clean-up and liaise with the necessary teams
  • Assist with the development of new finance processes and systems enhancements
  • Assist with statement checks and label queries and send out statements as required
  • Assist with raising label statement payments and other costs
  • Review third party sales files and pricing and prepare sales upload files
  • Assist in monthly forecasting and modelling for budgets and forecasts
  • Assist the team with month end including journal preparation and balance sheet reconcilliations
  • Assist the team with management reporting preparation
  • Carry out all other ad-hoc duties as directed by Management and Senior Executives.
About you:
  • STEM graduate
  • Previous experience in a finance assistant/analyst role desirable but not essential.
  • You will have advanced excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas)
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to interact effectively with all levels both within the business and also to third party labels
  • You have excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • You have  great organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • You have strong analytical skills and will be able to work through problems logically
  • You have a strong desire to learn and develop your skillset in a fast-paced environment
  • You will possess commercial awareness and business insight
  • You will have a flexible attitude towards working hours around key Financial deadlines
We’d love it if you also had:
  • Previous experience in a media or music company
  • Ability to work well individually
