Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Planning Analyst to join the Finance  team on a permanent basis.
The purpose of this role is to partner with the wider UK business and finance teams to provide strategic financial & planning analysis to inform commercial decision-making.
And to support the senior FP&A manager to prepare and deliver the UKTV and UK Long Range Plan (LRP), annual budget, quarterly and rolling forecasts and other financial planning & modelling of new business initiatives
What we would like you to bring:
  • Previous experience of budgeting, business planning and forecasting
  • Experience partnering with the business & teams to provide financial analysis and advice to support business decisions
  • Experience with reporting systems (SAP & BPC) preferred
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the media/broadcasting sector preferred
Skills & Personal qualities
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in analysing and modelling large data sets
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships across the organisation, and work collaboratively across multiple functions
  • Able to simplify and communicate complex financial information to key stakeholders
  • Able to prioritise and manage time effectively, managing deadlines and conflicting demands and using initiative to resolve day-to-day problems
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment where new and unfamiliar business opportunities are being modelled

What you will work on - Key Responsibilities
  • Support SFP&A Manager and the business to prepare all aspects of the annual budget, forecast and long-term planning processes for all commercial areas for UK
  • Work closely with the Management Accounting team to provide relevant inputs and analysis required for modelling and/or decision-making purposes
  • Support the wider business in developing annual business plans to inform the financial budget and forecasts, identifying and aligning on key business drivers & assumptions
  • Contribute to the preparation of business cases, investment proposals and key projects, providing relevant analysis and insight using benchmarking & other methods to assess financial impact
  • Develop tools, models and processes that improve the analytical capabilities of the finance team and support business decision making
  • Prepare reporting to wider BBC Group including presentations and system uploads
