Icarus Complex is an annual print publication and communication platform taking an in-depth look at the issues and solutions around Climate Change.

We have a virtual and international team and are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented budding graphic designer to join our team.

Visual story-telling is an important component of our approach and we hope that you can add to how we use a strong visual aesthetic to tell climate stories from around the world.

Your role will be to primarily assist the Social Media Manager and Strategist (NY-based) in creating content for our social media channels, this may include writing copy, while also being on hand to help with editorial content online if needed.

Future design responsibilities may include making graphics, presentations, event flyers, performance ads, infographics, and other material from concept to production.

Requirements

• Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enthusiastic, works well under pressure

• Ongoing or completed degree in Graphic Design is preferred

• Digital portfolio showcasing your design experience is a must

• Experience and interest in animation and video are a plus

• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

• Good English language skills (written and verbal),

• Excellent presentation skills with Google Slides or PowerPoint,

• Passionate about design and eager to experiment to find new ideas

• Self-motivated and proactive with a keen eye for details

The number of hours required are an estimated 10 hrs per week.
