Description

Role: Graphic Designer


Reporting to: Senior Designer


Dependencies: Internal marketing, social, product teams + external agencies & photoshoot team

Location/Times: Plymouth office with hybrid working / Mon-Fri 9-5

Job Purpose: Key member of our small creative team, creating word class design and image assets for a DTC brand.

Accountabilities
  • Digital design
Email design
Website design and asset creation
Web/social ads and assets
  • Design for print (including catalogue, magazine ads and packaging)
  • Photoshoots, image processing and administration
Pre-shoot research, such as collecting image inspiration and creating moodboards
Contributing to creative direction for upcoming shoots and presenting to wider team
Assisting team with planning, outfitting and shot lists
Assisting team on shoot to ensure all required assets are shot
Assisting team post-shoot with image selection
Maintaining multiple image libraries
Preparing final edited imagery for web
Naming and filing imagery correctly
Retouching digital imagery for print & web

Requirements

Experience: We are looking for an accomplished Graphic Designer with the confidence and ability to tackle projects with minimal direction. Someone who can hit the ground running, roll their sleeves up and quickly become a key member of this hardworking and fun-loving team.

Imagery: We are looking for someone with an eye for selecting the very best images and creating beautiful crops, to then go on and create world class assets with, bringing the imagery to life in exciting and fresh new ways.

Typography: The candidate will need to be adept in typography, demonstrating skills such as composition, hierarchy, contrast, whitespace etc.

Branding: Combining words, typography and imagery together to inspire customers and create an emotional connection to the brand via various consumer touchpoints.


Fashion: Whilst you don’t need background in fashion, we are looking for someone with a natural interest in fashion brands, ideally someone inspired by women’s clothing (particularly activewear and adventure/outdoors).

Organisation: As a small team there is need, particularly during busy periods, for strong organisational and time management skills, in order to assist the team with the less creative tasks and work collaboratively to ensure all objectives and goals are achieved.

Other requirements
• Design related qualification (to degree level)
• Proven track record working as a graphic designer in a design agency or in-house role
• A strong portfolio of relevant work
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD/Figma) + Microsoft Office
• Delivers high quality results within short timeframes and can work under pressure
• Outstanding attention to detail

Desirable but not essential
• Video/animation or motion graphics experience
• Experience retouching digital imagery
• Digital asset management
• Previous photoshoot experience
• A full clean driving licence
