Advertising accounts for two-thirds of UKTV’s revenue. The advertising team works closely with UKTV’s ad sales partner, Channel 4, to maximize advertising revenue across its channel and digital inventory. The advertising team and this role specifically also collaborate with UKTV’s Digital and Commercial teams to identify, drive, and deliver new digital revenue opportunities.
The Head of Streaming & Programmatic Capabilities role is a senior position that ensures UKTV maximizes its digital advertising revenue, delivering Video on Demand (VoD) inventory required by Channel 4 and supporting the business as the digital advertising expert.
Shape and deliver UKTV’s digital (streaming) advertising, programmatic, and FAST channel strategy.
Influence and inform senior stakeholder discussions on UKTV’s wider digital commercial strategy as the senior digital advertising voice.
Act as a key senior stakeholder in the overall Channel 4 Adsales relationship.
What We Would Like You to Bring to the Role
At least 5 years in a senior advertising role.
Ad-tech and ad-serving technologies, with comfort in working with technical teams to optimize revenue and deliver new opportunities.
Defining Ad tech requirements with Ad tech partners, including Supply-side (SSP) and Demand-side platforms (DSP).
Managing platform or partner advertising integrations.
Skills & Personal Qualities:
Strong relationship management and communication skills, capable of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Confidence in managing senior internal stakeholders and informing high-level discussions.
Significant experience in Commercial Streaming operations.
Strong analytical skills and experience in leveraging data for advertiser value.
Knowledge of data privacy laws and their implications for advertising.

Collaborate with the Channel 4 Adsales team to support the advertising roadmap.
Track and apply industry developments in VoD advertising to UKTV’s benefit.
Manage the interface between UKTV Adsales and teams across editorial, marketing, product, and digital delivery.
Proactively manage the Channel 4 Adsales team’s technical support team.
Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external issues associated with digital ad campaigns.
Work with the data team to optimize outcomes from insights, including AI-generated opportunities.
Ensure compliance with data privacy laws in collaboration with the Business Legal Affairs (BLA) team.
