Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Digital Advertising to join the Commercial team.
UKTV is a digital first business, with ambitious plans to grow. This is a senior role, with the purpose of ensuring that we maximise our digital advertising revenue. This entails ensuring that we are delivering the VoD inventory that Channel 4 require and supporting the business as the digital advertising expert.
What we would like you to bring to the role:
Experience:
  • Experience in a senior advertising role.
  • Extensive experience with platform and ad-tech technologies; comfortable with working with technical teams to optimise revenue and deliver new opportunities.
  • Significant advertising experience in VOD AdSales market.
  • Experienced in the wider ad sales world, including TV.
  • Experience of creating advertiser value around new platform opportunities.
  • Experience of developing and implementing a digital advertising strategy
  • Experienced with customer data platforms and data clean rooms.
Knowledge
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills.
  • An expert in existing and emerging digital ad serving technologies.
  • Knowledgeable about data privacy laws and how they apply to advertising.
  • An understanding of Agile working.
Skills & Personal Qualities
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a number of departments, as well as external stakeholders.
  • Confidence in managing senior internal stakeholders and informing high level discussions
What you will get to work on
  • Shape and drive UKTV’s digital advertising strategy.
  • As the senior digital advertising voice in the business, you will influence and guide senior discussion and thinking regarding UKTV’s wider digital strategy.
  • Be a key senior stakeholder in the overall C4Adsales relationship.
  • Proactively identify and deliver new ways to super-charge VOD revenues and emerging advertising opportunities.
  • Monitor performance against targets; keeping UKTV fully informed of progress and actions.
  • Ensure UKTV extracts maximum advertising return from each platform, embracing opportunities through new technology and data including dynamic targeting and new ad formats.
  • Understand the advertising capabilities and ad serving of different platforms.
  • Liaise with the C4 Adsales team to support delivery of the enhanced advertising roadmap, which includes using our customer data platform, data clean rooms and other relevant ad tech.
  • Support the Commercial team in ensuring UKTV achieves optimal terms with platforms to deliver the best advertising return.
  • Track industry developments around the evolution of VOD advertising, understanding the impact/opportunity for UKTV and applying this knowledge to the benefit of UKTV.
  • Key interface between UKTV Adsales team, editorial, marketing, product and digital delivery teams
  • Proactive management of C4 Adsales team and their technical support team:
  • Monitoring performance and monetisation; highlighting challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborating on strategy, particularly around new and emerging technology and platforms.
  • Provide a consistent information flow to ensure C4Sales have all the information required to deliver the best possible ad revenue figure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external issues associated with digital ad campaigns.
  • Monitor and report performance and monetisation, highlighting challenges and opportunities.
  • Work with the data team to ensure we optimise possible outcomes from insight and opportunities that data and AI will provide.
  • Work with the product team to ensure the C4’s advertising roadmap requirements can be supported by our own product estate.
  • Work with the BLA team to ensure that we are compliant with data privacy laws.
