Wellcome Collection is a free museum and library exploring health and human experience, where you can enjoy exhibitions, museum and library collections, public events, and a vibrant shop and café. We also publish books and online Stories.
This is a great time to join the Wellcome Collection as we embark on an exciting period of change. Wellcome Collection has recently introduced a new ten-year strategy and this role will play an important part in bringing to life our vision of a world where everyone’s experience of health matters.
Wellcome Collection is part of the Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation that supports science to build a healthier future for everyone. Wellcome Trust plans to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.
These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won’t be solved by science alone.
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
You will be part of the Wellcome Collection Communications and Marketing team of nine people, reporting to the Wellcome Collection Marketing Lead. You will also work closely with colleagues across Wellcome Collection, including Curatorial, Live Programme, Digital Engagement, Visitor Experience, as well as Wellcome's central Communications teams.
What will I be doing?
As a Marketing Manager you will plan, devise and deliver audience-first marketing campaigns that promote Wellcome Collection’s vision and mission, building Welcome Collection and Wellcome’s brand, influence and reputation.
To achieve this, you will:
  • Create and execute marketing campaigns for Wellcome Collection that broaden and diversify Wellcome Collection’s audiences.
  • Work on campaigns across the range of Wellcome Collection activities, including commercial, exhibitions programme, live events, library, youth and schools, publishing, and digital engagement.
  • Use wide range of creative tactics to achieve clear outcomes; ensuring you consider multiple channels, tactics and partnerships.
  • Work within defined budgets and in line with the goals and targets of each marketing campaign, making sure activity is delivered on time and on budget.
  • Build in scope to develop and flex campaigns that are ‘in flight’, reacting to audience feedback and insights.
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.

We're looking for someone who has a proven track record in / with:
  • Working on integrated campaigns, briefing media agencies and designers.
  • Identifying key influencers and partners that will help to amplify the reach and impact of campaigns.
  • Prioritising and managing multiple campaigns and projects at once, on time and on budget.
  • Creating creative marketing activity based on sound audience insight, evaluating campaigns, and sharing learning.
  • Passion for supporting Wellcome’s journey to becoming an anti-racist, anti-ablest organisation. You'll be an important champion of our Inclusive Communications Principles, building these into your own work and helping to promote them to the wider organisation.

Our Hybrid Way of Working
We understand that our colleagues have commitments and personal interests outside of work and we strive to build a flexible working environment, in which people can perform at their best. We are currently working 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from our Euston Road offices (as part of our hybrid Ways of Working) with the remaining 3 days working either remotely or in the office.
From 1st September 2024 we will move to 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) with the remaining 2 days working either remotely or in the office.
