The role of an Edit Assistant within SPS at Sky is to manage content from acquisition through to delivery. You will be expected to work within a busy Post Production environment and be able to understand and work within the confines of various workflows with meticulous detail. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to deadlines in a professional and sustainable manner whilst ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the department.
What you'll do:
  • Provide support within the edit operations team for all areas of Post Production
  • Support the editors before, during and after production
  • Project & Media management Entertainment & sport shows.
  • Working to complex HD, UHD & HDR workflows
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of post workflows and how to manage
  • Creation of AAF’s and EDL’s to be supplied to in house audio department
  • Conforms/dynamic relink
  • Online and Grade Preps for Baselight.
  • Create & QC master material
  • Log and report support and workflow issues and work with other departments to resolve any issues that arise
  • Manage tier 1, 2 and 3 storage solutions as well as any cloud storage
  • Intermediate first-line support to all editing and production staff
  • Work closely with the planning team to ensure a smooth post production process is achieved
  • Partake in training, support and mentoring junior members of the team
What you'll bring:
  • 1 years + Professional working knowledge of Avid and other Editing Products within a Post Production/ broadcast environment.
  • 1 years + Working knowledge of Nexis/Interplay/Adobe Premiere/Baselight/Pro Tools and Fairlight is desirable
  • High level working knowledge of video standards and codecs
  • Practiced understanding of post-production workflows
  • Strong communicator
  • Effective time management and reporting
  • Calm in a high-pressured environment
Team Overview:
Post Production provides Editing, Grading and Audio services for all of Sky’s Content Creation teams – Entertainment, New, Drama, Sport & Sports News; we also provide our services to Independent Production Houses.
The department is made up of Editing, Audio, Edit Operations, User Support, Post Producers and Planning who work together to deliver a complete Post Production service to our clients. Our teams of specialists work across the whole spectrum of content genres from news and sport to audience entertainment shows and documentaries. Our talented editors, graders and audio mixers are supported by dedicated technical support, media management and workflow specialists. Complex programme creation is managed by our Post Producers. The people and resources are co-ordinated by our Planning department.
