This is a UK based contract and as such, you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Evidence of your Right to Work will be checked prior to interview.
If you have good project management skills coupled with the ability to bring together a wide range of stakeholders, this is a unique opportunity to use your talents to save our planet. As the world’s leading independent conservation organisation, our research shows that wildlife population sizes have plummeted by 60% in less than 50 years. Our work shows the principal drivers of this alarming biodiversity loss continue to be the overexploitation of species, agricultural expansion and the food system at large.
To tackle this situation the Drivers Initiative was established to address governance, legality and food and financial systems in key producer and consumer countries. As Programme Coordinator you will assist the development an innovative environmental crime platform to strengthen financial institutions’ ability to identify deforestation and wider nature crime and their links to financial crimes. This will involve helping to coordinate the external outreach of the environmental crime financial toolkit with the development of events and communications and ensuring that stakeholders are connected to the progress of the initiative. You will oversee the delivery of activities including workshops and roundtables as well as act as the account manager for the proposed external communications company. You will also support the Drivers team in developing new restricted funding opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to share and deliver relevant materials relating to the project. This will include reports, briefings and public communications. You will liaise with colleagues to develop, identify and secure further funding prospects too.
To help in the fight to bring back nature, you must have experience of bringing together a wide range of stakeholders and creating a culture of collaborative working. With a background in conservation, development or research, you will be used managing projects and defining and overseeing processes too. Comfortable operating in a matrix managed environment, you will possess excellent communication, planning and relationship building skills. You will also possess an understanding of the NGO or environmental sectors. Experience of fundraising would be an advantage.
If you would like to be part of the team working to create a world where nature thrives for the future of humanity, we would love to hear from you.
