THE ROLE
The Senior Delivery Manager role sits in the Delivery unit within BBC Studio’s Digital Division of Brands and Licensing. The Digital Division’s purpose is to build addressable audiences across social, audio, web and CRM. We curate and commission content that captivates audiences and delivers attribution back to BBC brands, franchises and branded services – with the goal of driving both direct and indirect revenue for BBC Studios.
Reporting into the Director of Operations and Delivery, the Senior Delivery Manager works collaboratively with multiple teams to lead the delivery of digital-focused programmes of work / projects across two brands to agreed timelines, scope and budget. The role’s purpose is to oversee the pipeline of work and be a key point of contact and manage internal and external stakeholders across the entire project lifecycle. Projects span original video commissions for BBC Studio’s YouTube and social channels, promotional digital campaigns relating to series launches and events, as well as projects that live on the brands’ websites and digital platforms.
Day to day
  • Oversee the digital content pipeline across two of our fastest growing brands, working closely with the Programming, Development and Product teams and key contacts in both Studios Production and Studios Creative as well as external production companies.
  • Lead project teams through various milestones such as planning, sign-off, kick-off, delivery, compliance and publishing via the creation of an internal schedule, making sure all timeline and budget docs are kept up to date and maintaining clarity and momentum across stakeholders.
  • As delivery lead be responsible for identifying and bringing the right people together at the right time, ensuring teams are collaborative and communicating effectively with each other.
  • Line manage and support the development of 2 x Line Producers, as well as provide onboarding and oversight of freelance project managers supporting on projects.
  • Ensure that production teams understand and carry out responsibilities for ensuring all programmes meet copyright, legal, compliance, commercial rights, metadata management and delivery requirements and work closely with Development Executive on this for originals specifically.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent workflows are implemented for successful project delivery with a pro-active approach to creating an environment where continuous improvements of teams' working practices can happen, implementing and iterating these changes to successful outcomes.
  • Lead status meetings and monthly planning meetings, flagging resourcing issues between Digital and external teams and finding solutions for resource blockers or conflicts.
  • Oversight of brands’ budgets ensuring spend is forecasted and outgoings tracked with a high level of attention to detail, looking ahead to flag any overspend or discrepancies.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
KEY CRITERIA
  • Knowledge or experience within the  media industry is desirable
  • Extensive experience of digital production and project managing projects / workstreams to successful outcomes within an agency style set up working with external partners where needed. Have demonstrable experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and be able to influence, bridge specialisms and navigate ambiguity.
  • Be a team player and active listener who can give clear, actionable feedback, allowing you to build trust, manage complex team dynamics, and motivate everyone to work towards a common goal.
  • Demonstrable experience of coaching and developing direct reports and supporting them to achieve
  • Record of being organised and reactive in fast paced environments.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational and planning skills and manages conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Proactively acquires knowledge and takes the initiative in implementing solutions to improve delivery processes and drive the momentum of projects.
  • Demonstrates team leadership skills and can effectively lead, develop and motivate teams across a range of output.
  • Working knowledge of the project lifecycle including selection of appropriate project management methodologies, digital tools, and techniques for delivery.
  • Resource management in fast paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
DESIRABLE
  • Experience using Monday.com for project and workstream management.
  • Knowledge of web development projects (though technical delivery experience not essential)

Maternity Cover - 14 month fixed term contract
Band D Salary: upto £60,000 per annum plus London Weighting Allowance depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
