Job Introduction
Do you have experience and a strong interest in Unscripted programming?  Do you know how to find the best content globally with a keen eye on shows that deliver for all UK audiences?    We’re looking for a Senior Programme Executive to assess, comply and oversee acquired programming throughout its lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities
The Senior Programme Executive assesses a variety of solicited and unsolicited unscripted content. In this role you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of acquired unscripted content from the initial acquisition right through to delivery and transmission and beyond.  
You will deal with a high volume of acquisitions and will require an expertise in editorial policy and compliance in order to identify potential problematic content. You will be required to keep current with Ofcom judgements and complaints which arise in relation to acquired and commissioned content. You will build and maintain external relationships with suppliers. You will be able to pinpoint programmes the BBC should be offering to meet audience need, editorial priorities and diversity in our content.  You will foster creativity in others and leverage your skills and experience in the promotion of acquired unscripted programming throughout its lifecycle at the BBC.
Are you the right candidate?
You will have:
  • Experience and interest in the global unscripted programme market – this could be Production experience (Producer level or above), Commissioning or Distribution experience (Sales & Acquisition Manager or above).
  • Strong editorial experience and judgement.
  • A strong understanding of evolving audience requirements and the importance of diversity in our content.
  • A demonstrable approach to building and managing relationships with key suppliers.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail, ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience of stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
