Headquartered in London, Tide has over 1,600 Tideans across the UK, Bulgaria, India, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine and Germany.
Tide is rapidly growing, expanding into new markets and always looking for passionate and driven people. Join us in our mission to empower small businesses and help them save time and money.
About the team
The UX Writing team delivers clear and concise copy for Tide’s mobile and web products to help our members run and grow their business. We work closely with cross-functional teams, including Design, User Research, Product, and Engineering, to create and deliver intuitive user experiences.
About the role
We're looking for an outstanding UX Writer to drive the content across our German app. Your work will have a significant impact on the way we communicate with our members in Germany. You’ll be joining the growing UX Writing team – this is not a marketing or translation role.
Responsibilities
  • You’ll own UX copy in Tide’s recently-launched German app, writing in German (and English occasionally)
  • Understand business goals and user needs, then plan, develop, and deliver copy that brings the two together
  • Collaborate with Design, User Research, Product, and Engineering teams to devise holistic solutions to member pain points
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to support our growth in Germany
  • Proactively flag issues relating to the Germany app experience
  • Advocate for the value of UX writing and user-centred design across the business
  • Contribute to Tide’s content design system to raise the bar for copy across Tide
  • Proactively flag issues relating to the Germany app experience
  • Look for opportunities to optimise our localisation processes
  • Support our long-term strategy and experience quality
  • Provide German proofreading support to other areas of the business when required eg marketing, CRM, SEO
What we’re looking for
  • Excellent writing skills in German (and English ideally), including the ability to distil complicated concepts into easily-digestible copy
  • 3+ years experience writing German copy as a UX Writer or Content Designer, ideally within a similar sector
  • A data-driven approach to crafting copy
  • Ability to lead projects and establish a clear direction when faced with ambiguity
  • Great communication skills with all levels, including senior leadership
  • Experience of managing stakeholders and balancing multiple priorities
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience of using Figma and translation tools
  • Passion for inclusive design and accessibility
What you’ll get in return
  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible working options
  • Share options
  • Group Life Insurance
  • Vitality Health Insurance, with a proactive focus on mental and physical wellbeing
  • 25 days holiday with the ability to buy extra days
  • We invest in your development with a £1,000 professional L&D budget per year
  • Access to ‘salary sacrifice’ benefits such as Cycle to Work scheme and pension contribution
  • Spacious brand-new office near Old Street with an all-day snacks bar
  • Enhanced family-friendly leave
  • 3 days for L&D or volunteering time off per year
  • Sabbatical leave
